Vintage Sherry: Glass Petals

Note: Here is actually a poem I wrote during high school, back when I started feeling very angsty and the only way to express my feelings was through poetry. This particular poem was one of two poems published in my high school's literary magazine, "Perspective."

Glass Petals

Infallible
Soft steps
Tread hushed
On glass petals
Fading to a
Distant delicacy

Skin has been ravaged
Glass embedded deep
Deep into that skin
Translucent veins
Spilling red
Trying to walk
On glass petals
Gouges out
Fallible
Callous steps

Written: circa March 2000
