What Is Love?

Note: Even though I don't give much stock to Valentine's Day (hello, Hallmark and consumerism), this week is dedicated to poems about love and the holiday of last-minute flower purchases.

From what the movies tell us:

love is a meet cute at a coffee shop
love is a stunning dress, descending the stairs
love is initial hatred and verbal sparring
love is a journey to return a lost object (maybe a shoe)
love is beauty loving the beast
love is chasing after the beloved...in a car, on a motorcycle

From what we really want:
love is reading poetry together
love is a slow burn attraction over art
love is hoping the sun doesn’t rise too soon
love is remembering a significant detail
love is discovering there’s still conversation left
love is believing there is no one else better

Love is realizing you finally found {The One}
