A Narrow Conversation

"Your life is very narrow."

"What?"

"Your life is the same."

"What do you mean?"

"You interact with the same people.
You aren't part of any activities.
You don't get out much."

"You chastise me for going out with friends too much.
Then you chastise me for not having a varied social life.
I don't get it.  I have lots of friends."

"You don't have a lot of friends."

"I do have a lot of friends.
I just choose who to hang out with more,
which might make it seem I don't have a lot of friends."

"But you don't go out and do things.
You know, friends who go to bars aren't worth keeping."

"I would say friends you drink with are the only ones worth keeping.
My social life is just fine."
