Going mini-golfing at the town park
The sky was laid out in a bottomless purple
Inside the silver fence, black-eyed susans
Bowed to us and supple ferns gently led us
Down to the next green
Ponds full with a white foam layer and
Soothing waterfalls made it all seem
Like a Hollywood backdrop
There was the realistic set
With the bright spotlights
Surrounded by a perfectly erected fence
Outside the horizon was a deep purple
The dark sunset looked more like a painted set
Than the real setting of the sky wrapped in night
For a night I lived in “Oklahoma!”
Believed I was in a mid-western state
Perhaps Dorothy on her Kansas farm
For one night I was in Tinseltown
