Note: Another poem written in my high school Creative Writing class. This one was inspired by Van Gogh's "Starry Night" painting.
Starry Night
Swirled from the dank depths of a dark wizard's tomb
Ten eyes blink
Each golden candle simmering in wax eyelids
Sunk in iridescent blue scales
A claw curls across this sleeping town, small and quaint
A village enchanted into slumber
By the spell within the towering black castle
An ascent to Heaven, the cross juts into the sky
A fortress, Tower of Babble seeking for God
Still the crescent-horned beast has melted itself
Assimilated into a starry night
Slinking itself to cover the town
The chant of a forsaken black magician
To drain Light.
