Today I said goodbye,
while inside my mind echoed
nevermore
nevermore
nevermore
and this head of mine sprouted darkness
and damp feathers intertwined and matted,
nestled and tangled over shiny black eyes
nevermore
nevermore
nevermore
and outside the window, the trees stood bare
black and brown mannequins holding a sun, a strong orange
burning stillness and creeping below the branches
nevermore
nevermore
nevermore
and weak and weary like the Poet,
all my soul within me burning, this
soul with sorrow laden, my loneliness
remained unbroken
nevermore
nevermore
nevermore
and still melancholy burden bore down,
demons and fiends remained unmoved,
the stillness still remained unbroken
nevermore
nevermore
nevermore
