Mouthful of Movement

Note: From my poetry thesis, "Mementos of a Hostile City."

They stood there kissing
in the rain, in the dark,
a vacuum of air and light

Men in telephone booths stood by
bearing down in the wetness

But you and her, you and him
just kissed—your hand
pressed upward on her face
