The Heart That Left

Brainscape - Tim Walker
A fragment of my heart was left in London—
but it took a moment of happiness
to remember what it felt—to be free

Together—we drank wine, analyzed and analyzed,
conversationalized our happiness—
a Woolfian moment of magical clarity and connection

Voices spilling past tables, I recalled—
an easy happiness that only comes when surrounded
by pioneers—breaking the boundaries of distance

Though it’s getting late, nothing can banish
this crystallized moment of success—
this triumphant purity of happiness—
